Bailey Winston is the Southern Arizona Water Projects Manager with The Nature Conservancy, where she supports San Pedro recharge projects with the Cochise Conservation and Recharge Network and co-leads San Pedro River Wet/Dry Mapping. Prior to joining TNC in February 2023, Bailey directed Arizona Land and Water Trust’s Desert Rivers Program and has worked on water resources planning and stakeholder engagement at University of Arizona and water sector resilience and emergency response at US EPA.

For 24 years The Nature Conservancy has led a coordinated effort to map wet and dry portions of the San Pedro River and its tributaries, from the river’s headwater in Mexico to its confluence with the Gila River. This data helps us understand annual conditions and long-term trends in the health of our river and its supporting aquifer, and make well-informed management decisions to support regional water supplies and ecosystems. In this presentation on May 25th at 6:00 PM you will learn about the history of the project, a snapshot of last year’s results, and how you can participate in the upcoming 25th year of Wet/Dry Mapping!
