The U.S. Department of Defense contracts with the University of Arizona Cochise County Cooperative Extension to provide Fort Huachuca with the Water Wise and Energy Smart Program (WWES). Cooperative Extension has been providing this service since 1997. The Water Wise and Energy Smart Program provides water and energy conservation education and related support to U.S. Army and civilian employees who work and/or live on Fort Huachuca, Sierra Vista, Arizona, and to students attending schools on the installation. The overall objective is to increase the awareness of water and energy conservation to the military mission, along with identifying and assisting in carrying out specific measures to accomplish the conservation.
